These sea observations are painted from the exact same place whenever I am in Provincetown, Massachusetts, no matter the season.
My intention is to spontaneously capture the shifting energy of the sea and sky, low tide or high tide, creating a visual moment in time, marked by color shifts and patterns.
I began this series in 2017, and it continues, now with approximately 220 almanac studies.
Each piece has a ledger of the weather, temperature, and other conditions of the instant. With these pieces, I am compiling an almanac of the sea and me.
