about the series - "Encounters"
“Encounters” pairs two alike or unlike women in abstract form.
By creating a color palette and marks evocative of each individual’s personality, I attempt to unite two women with some overlapping characteristic to “meet” on one picture plane, expressing their common bond.
Some pairs are more harmonious than others, but the fun challenge lies in the research and visual translation to unite kindred spirits.
Selecting from the arts, literature, sciences,
and civil activist genres, the women
represented have altered history.

"One House" Project
The One House Project is a collaborative
resistance art project made up of 200 artists. Each artist creates a panel representing a family member who immigrated to the United States. My panel will be added with the other artists’ panels to form the exterior of a 3-D house structure. Once complete, the One House project will stand as a symbol of the supreme importance for our diverse nation, the United States of America.
My Great Grandmother came to America as an orphan via County Claire, Ireland and made her solo way ironing for families and schools with humor and a big heart .
